HTTP Authentication multiple popups

I have a website application that I have created that requires the user to enter a username and password for access to a particular realm. I am using the basic Edge authentication popup. However when the username and password are entered, the application continues to prompt for username and password to the same realm for every attempt to access the server. Is there a way to set up the application so Edge will use the first prompt entries and not prompt for future attempts within the same visit?
