Windows 10 automatically closes apps/programs on waking up from sleep.

I did a windows upgrade from 7 a few days ago and everything works fine except that when I have some windows or apps open, they don't stay open but closes whenever my computer screen goes to sleep. This makes me lose my work. Apps only close when my display goes to sleep and wakes up.

I did the SFC /SCANNOW in CMD and everything is fine. Should I just put my laptop to "never" sleep or is there a 100% working solution.

Have you checked the setting on "Choose what closing the lid does" ?

Maybe it is set to shutdown when you close the lid ?

It is random. If I have, let's say, 3 programs open, then it will sometime close all three. Sometimes only one. I don't close my lid. The programs close when my screen goes black.

I started to get this same issue on my SP4 after the last feature update...
