IMHO, Microsoft is blocking our unsupported phones or it is a bug in the current builds 15063.251 and 15063.138
They're blocking. The last release notes I read stated that those devices will no longer be supported.

Makes me wonder how long the X3 will be supported. Generally, for business devices, one looks at a seven to ten year support life.

Hi HoosierDaddy,

How did you get up to "...1520.3 was updated to .251 in the last hour..."
What was your path to it?
Via Insider preview ring. Previously, I had switched it to the slow ring to get .2 in case MS pulled the plug on Insider or the servers got hammered on official release day. Then I switched it back to Preview ring. Its my backup phone so didn't turn it on again until this morning specifically to try to get .251. I went to settings/update and was offered .251 which installed without a hitch.

Please read my post #5 in this very thread for all the details.

To summarize the current situation:
My Lumia 1520 (exact model 1520.3, RM-938) currently has 15063.2 build.
Doesn't matter what Fast, Slow, or Release preview I select, the phone sees the available OS update, starts the update process and immediately shows the 0x80070273 error.
Both the Soft reset and Hard reset don't help to make a progress.

IMHO, Microsoft is blocking our unsupported phones or it is a bug in the current builds 15063.251 and 15063.138

It's a bug.

Microsoft said the unsupported phones can get the update via the release preview.

I have two 1520 in the house.
One I alway mess about (reset, WDRT, etc)... it's getting the updates
The other, which my wife uses, which was last updated months ago and can't go further without the hard reset/WDRT route....
Guess what I'll be busy with this weekend??

... !!

I got it on my 535DS through Insider.First 15063.2 and 15063.138 through Slow Ring. Then switched to Release Preview and got 15063.251
Working smoothly so far.
I had 15063.138 last week but rolled back to 14393.1066 through WDRT because I was getting black screen on unlocking and when I was receiving a call or turning the alarm off.
The upgrade was quick and smooth.

I have not yet tried it out. I will do so and let you know.
Edit - In my country Windows maps cannot find all places like institutes, shops etc . This always was the case. I would have to use some nearest landmark to locate a place. I found Google maps locating places much better here in India.

Thanks man. I asked because some users on some devices like the L920 are reporting the roads not rendering on maps.
So I'm going to update to CU today ????????????????????????????????????.

Which phone model do you have ?
I just used Maps just for a short time to test it.There did not seem to be any difference from AU.
All the best for your CU update.I hope you do not face any problems during and after the update.

It's a L535. Still in update process. Right now I'm at 15063.2 and switched to release preview. Checking for updates...

Exactly, after one more update I got 15063.251. No problems so far, seems basically the same. 👍🏽

15063.251 updated on wife's 1520... no problems. Update all the apps that needed to be updated. Battery seems to drain quickly...
Will plug in on the charger and see if it settles down overnight...
