May 9, 2017—KB4016871 (OS Build 15063.296 and 15063.297)

Improvements and fixes

This security update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:

•Addressed issue with Surface Hub devices waking from sleep approximately every four minutes after the first two hours.
•Addressed issue where autochk.exe can randomly skip drive checks and not fix corruptions, which may lead to data loss.

•Addressed issues with Arc Touch mouse Bluetooth connectivity.
•Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows SMB Server, Windows COM, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows kernel, Windows Server, and the .NET Framework.

If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

Known issues in this update

Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update.

How to get this update

Just curious .......................

Why do you need to do a Clean Install in order to get new updates ?
What's wrong with your Win 10 system, any idea ?

Do you have the Home edition or the Pro edition ?

ETA: Error says "Not applicable to your computer"

ETA2: Forced Creators Update -- all went well. Thanks for the feedback, David. .

OK, so how do I get the latest build?? Update says "Your device is up to date. Last checked: today, 8:52 am"

The only reason I found out 1703 existed was by upgrading an old PC for a friend using the factory setup disk, and after that running the on-line Anniversary update. At least that's what I thought I was installing - 1703 is the build it now has, although mine upgraded to 1607 when I ran that same update a few months ago.

Use this Media Creation Tool link :

www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Click the Update now button.

Upgrade Assistant will start checking if your computer is ready for the upgrade.
If approved, it will tell you what to do next. Just follow the prompts.

This is an upgrade install.
No product key is required.
You can keep your files, settings and apps.
Activation is automatic.

Wait! Where is this button of which you speak?

I have
- Check for updates
- Update history
- Show me how (Creators' Update) (takes you to a website)

Then under Update settings
- Change active hours
- Restart options
- Advanced options
- Learn More (about latest updates)
...this last also takes you to a website, with links to the kb articles on each of the builds mentioned right at the top of this thread.

BUT it also says that the builds "will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update". Well... I beg to differ. It goes on to say that you can go to the Update Catalog website to download the standalone installer, which is pretty much exactly what I was looking for in the first place :)
