Icon/Shortcut Scaling Problems

Thanks in advance to all ... Occasionally I rescale my desktop to something other than 100% and some of the images within an Icon (Desktop Shortcut) shrink to the point of being unrecognizable. How can I recover*the Icon which is designed for the resolution/scale of my desktop (150% is current favourite)?

Windows should select the best icon for the DPI selected. However older apps do not have high DPI icons so may look odd. Additionally some settings may not render correctly until you log out and log back in.
