Windows 10 Home was factory installed when I bought the laptop two years ago.

Six months ago the hard-drive crashed and everything was lost. A technician installed a new hard-drive and also reinstalled Windows, but he installed Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 10 Home that was there originally but had been lost when the hard-drive crashed. Now that I am getting the blue warning, I have been told the following in the Microsoft Support Forum:

Sorry, you must reinstall Windows 10 Home in order to activate it. There is no downgrade path.

There is no way to revert to Windows 10 Home without a clean installation, either through the factory reset option or use of the Media Creation Tool. Your earlier suggestion to just enter a Home product key won't work.

What is the easiest and most foolproof way for me to do this?

Thank you
