So with the new 21'' iMac now out and having nonuser upgradable RAM that made me wonder....just how the the Windows 8 computers are about a user upgrading or replacing parts.

I have built and repaired computers for several years so I know how to work on one. But soldered in RAM is soldered in RAM, there's not much a user can do. Does anybody have any info on how easy or hard the new Windows 8 computers are to work on?

Due to the nature of Windows PC OS, I don't think we'll ever truly go to soldered in RAM. Heck, I recently had a custom built machine built for me. Remember, Apple are tight and only Apple computers can run their OS. Whereas Windows will be available out the wazoo, and you can easily custom build a PC without soldered in RAM. I don't think this should be an issue.
