How to voice input a period or question mark

When I use voice recognition to text or email I can't seem to figure out how to input a period or question mark. Can someone help me with this?

You simply say "Period" or "Exclamation Mark"

It only spells the word

Weird, what program you using? I can do it on wordpad no problem.

I know with question marks the trick is to phrase it specifically as a question so that Tell Me can interpret the grammatical syntax.

Oh, this is wrong forum then, this is Windows 8 not Windows Phone 8.

I just tried on my Lumia 920 and yeah it writes out exclamation mark, but I did say "how was your day" and it automatically added the question mark.

I've only ever used voice for sending texts in my car and I've never noticed the punctuation.
