Windows 7 with all the features from windows 8 like charms and Bing smart search but metro is integrated in the desktop so metro apps run like normal applications. Improved on screen keyboard optimised for touch screen devices.
Applications on desktop have notifications. They will be shown with numbers. If there's an update, an up arrow will appear. If it has been updated recently, a star will appear next to the icon. Basically, If something has happened that involves an app, the apps icon will change depending on the situation. The notification area on the bottom right will be the system wide notification hub. Recent notifications will be there but to see all notifications, you must click an arrow. The arrow will show notifications in detail with list view. To clear notifications, go to the app or swipe the notification to the side. OS will re-arrange when changing from portrait and landscape.
