If I remember correctly the Windows 8.1 was released at 11 or 12 o'clock in the UK so it could be the same for this update.

That would be 2AM now. So it's tuesday already It's not like the process of releasing an update isn't automatized.
Well it's 11 here (CET) so if it's released at 11~12 GMT, it's only 1-2 hours away yay!

I think you're getting the updates confused. We're talking about Windows 8.1 Update 1 here, not WP8.1. (Although I wish WP8.1 was coming today!)

You can wait another 6-7 days and WP8.1 Dev preview will be released. I had read somewhere that it is coming out on the 14th.

I think this will not come until the next update and not this one. With this update, which we are expecting to hit today, you will be able to pin your ''metro'' apps to the taskbar.

I've been using modern mix from the outset to do this - well I say I've been doing this but I don't actually use any metro apps...
