I was considering an HP Stream 8 so that I could have a small tablet with some 4G action, but then I saw that the Microsoft Store website reports a maximum battery life of 6.5 hours. Is that really the best it can do? My Toshiba Encore 2's got a busted speaker, but the thing lasts all day!

Guy I work with bought one for $120 bucks on sale for Christmas. He told me he barely gets through a day with it.

So, I think yes - it isn't that hot.

My 8" Voyo 1 should have ad least 7 ours but I don't reach that with it. It depends on how you use it. As you use a lot of your wi-fi and watch video's, than the battery life is a lot lower. As you only type on it and set the screen brightness low than you will have a lot more battery life.
As you don't use wi-fi put it of, that helps saving your battery.
