Windows 8 Pro RTM Pre-Installed key not working for Windows 8.1 Pro :(

Good day guys,
May peace & blessings be upon us all.
I have purchased a used Lenovo workstation which has a windows 8 Pro sticker on it. Upon extracting its key details in the Bios with some software, I came to know its "Win 8 RTM Professional OEMM". I then installed an OEM windows 8.1 Pro x64 but the key is not working. If anyone has had experience regarding the matter, I'd request to help me in getting the original key registered. I will be grateful.

Did you try downloading Windows 8.1 directly from Microsoft? It should work.

You will need to contact Microsoft, they will help you through the activation process.
