I just got a Lumia 830. I setup the Health and Fitness app because I wanted my steps and calories burned tracked. However it records steps when I'm not even moving. My wife's Lumia 830 does as well. Why? Is there a setting I'm missing? Is the something wrong with our motion sensor?

Hey.. I thought this was answered :/ In any case, it sounds like you need to calibrate the band.. The guys over at Neowin had a similar problem and came up with this:

You need to calibrate your Microsoft Band: Here's how

I don't have a band. I just use the phone.

LOL My badness :p I assumed you were using the band as well... and I was already helping someone else with band-related issues...

Does anyone else notice this with their phone?

Somewhat related: Mine counts steps when I'm in a car or bus. Seems between motion sensor and GPS (and speed) it should handle this. But not yet.

But no, when I'm still, it stops counting.

Yes exactly the issue I'm having. I should have detailed that it counts steps when I'm in a car. I'm going to pay closer attention to it and see if that's the only time it counts extra steps.
