How to keep skype running only on notification area
So i received the email from microsoft suggesting to install the "new" desktop edition of skype because the modern app will stop working from july 7th and i did.
The problem is silly but still... i want skype to run in background without having the window always open on the taskbar, but i haven't found an option in skype settings. Anyone knows if and how this can be done?
I'm running Windows 8.1 btw
Re: How to keep skype running only on notification area
On desktop systems (non-tablet) I do not use an App. Instead I stay logged in to my Outlook mail box and see notifications on that browser tab. Skype is a sidebar in my inbox. Skype for Outlook.com - Video chat & call all your contacts from your inbox
Re: How to keep skype running only on notification area
thank you, this actually worked!
EDIT: i was too quick... it stays on the tray but then it freezes when i try to shut it down, won't close. i'm going to try other compatibility settings
