Trouble downloading music pass content

As the title suggests, I've seem to have run into a pesky, yet egregious bug that's popped up rather unexpectedly. Whenever I trigger a download of an album or a song through the Groove desktop client, it informs me that it's in the process of downloading but it never seems to complete. I've checked the 'downloading' folder to make sure that the app is caching the file/s (it is) but Groove won't finish the download, the files stay in a half downloaded state and Groove continues to display the downloading message in seeming perpetuity. Had anyone else encountered this problem before? Any suggestions as to what might be causing it? Is there a way to fix it? I'd tried uninstalling and re-installing the app but that hasn't helped and I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do.
