You're not going to get great sound when just talking to another person or listening to your typical mp3/mp4. Just like video quality depends on the source, same goes for sound. Playing xbox live games and watching netflix movies are where it shines. I can really tell the difference in sound experience when I pop up those speakers and hit that square button. The sounds become richer, fuller, louder, and just adds to the greatest mobile entertainment experience.

I agree 100% I also understand why some people may think its silly. But until they experience it while sharing a you tube video, watching Netflix or playing a game they will not understand.

What's your take on HTC's sound enhancer app? Does it add value or does it seem to just add visual cue when you tap on that square button (switches from none, dolby, srs)? I don't think I'm getting anything different from it.

I think you will like what you hear when you do.
