Save big now! Microsoft has Surface Laptop 3 discounted by $400
- Im not sure why there are such mixed reviews for this phone. I have heard it's a phone for beginners. I have been with iOS for 5 years, yes all five. This is an unbelievable device, I really have to pay attention to notice the screen is a lower res. Everything in intuitive and works together. I wish I hadn't waited this long to switch. Hopefully the 900 creates a great install base so we get some more apps (Pandora?) Twas a long day of waiting for that big white truck, but it was more than worth it.04-07-2012 01:04 AMLike 0
- Was out of town and didn't get back till almost midnight, but the phone was waiting on my doorstep all day. Opened it up and found and already opened box with no microsim. I even checked the sim tray. I'm already an att member and bought the phone no contract. Any ideas why there wasn't a microsim?04-07-2012 02:00 AMLike 0
- Did you guys check AT&T My Rate Plan page?
I had used iPhone 3GS and now I got Lumia 900 and activated it.
But the AT&T web was still saying my phone is iPhone 3gs on it and I tried to change it to Lumia 900. But there was no Lumia 900 on the Nokia device list on change my device page and my data plan is empty space.
I'm wondering if I can keep my unlimited data plan for iPhone 3gs with my Lumia 900.04-07-2012 02:36 AMLike 0 - got mine. Set it all up. kids hate me now.
Might have to go on ebay looking for used ones for them all, or 710's.04-07-2012 10:52 AMLike 0 - Got mine yesterday but still had to finish up some work last night prior to jumping in and fully enjoying the Nokia-fest with no nagging work hanging over my head...
I'm moving from an LG-E900 WP7 which has been a pretty damn good phone other than the worthless camera. So, here's the skinny:
The good:
- just absolutely black-hole-like blacks, deep, almost fell into the screen
- impressive screen size, really improves web browsing experience and video (Netflix, YouTube, etc...)
- feel: the polycarbonite feels awesome, like a single chuck of space shuttle ceramic tile
- build quality: superb, easily on par with iPhone 4 (had 2 phones ago)
The bad:
- haptic / vibrate is horrid, really really really bad, embarassingly bad, immediately tried to disable it
- as nice as the screen is, i was hoping the resolution would be a bit better. It's not bad but text does show some pixelation. Didn't expect Retina display but did expect a bit better...
The missing:
- app organizer / alpha grid listing like People alpha listing (not sure if this is OS or phone issue or if just needs to be turned on).
- all of my old apps!!!!! Zune doesn't seem to sync these. So not sure yet how to get all of the apps i paid for (and free) on my new phone.
UPDATE: app organizer just appeared as I installed another app which must have exceeded the threshold of apps to trigger this feature - my mistake #bonehead.
All in all, a bad *** phone...Last edited by wpjoe; 04-07-2012 at 12:29 PM.
04-07-2012 11:42 AMLike 0 - Go to windowsphone.com to find a list of all the apps you've ever installed. Then just hit reinstall on each one and it'll automatically install them on your phone. Very slick.04-07-2012 12:10 PMLike 0
- I wouldn't say slick. Slick would be if it automatically redownloaded everything from your previous device like other OSes I've used do. This is a workaround that is still annoying as ****. (There's also Reinstaller, but that's just as annoying).

- I agree, like Android we should be able to install previous apps once we sign into a new device. I find it annoying that there is no option for mass select on windowsphone.com, instead you have to hit install on each app. Needs much improvement.04-07-2012 01:36 PMLike 0
- Missed some text messages while out last nite. Came home to find those text messages on my iPhone 4.
Thought the problem fixed itself because one msg from a friend with an iPhone4 came thru the Lumia but then it reverted back. Her messages are being routed to my old iPhone.
It's the same phone number so I'm thinking this is related to iMessage.
Has any former iPhone users experiencing the same problem?
Thanks.04-07-2012 01:49 PMLike 0 - That's the 1st thing I notice too. Also the speed of the phone compared to the Arrive is much better. However, I do miss the HTC Hub on my home screen. I need to find a replacement for that.04-07-2012 02:22 PMLike 0

Fixed the problem from me.04-07-2012 05:47 PMLike 0 - Hah, same here. When I went the second time to play with the 900 and finally was able to use a device that was properly taken care of, I put the two devices side-by-side and really couldn't believe what a washed-out mess of a screen my Arrive had. The 900's screen MURDERS the Arrive's screen.
Also worth noting: the 900's screen on full brightness is really, really, really bright.
04-07-2012 07:53 PMLike 0 - So far I can't put this thing away. By far the best device I've used on any platform. Couple minor issues (camera could be a tad better, vibrate is a touch loud), but overall one helluva phone, and for the price? Rediculous.
Excited for the next 6 months and what it will bring in market awareness and userbase.04-08-2012 10:50 AMLike 0 - I'm so thankful for the loud vibrate - the Arrive was sorely lacking in vibration intensity and I'd miss calls/notifications in my jeans pocket all the time. So far the 900 vibrate seems very loud and noticeable.

But was wondering if anyone has had their Bluetooth turn off after phone has been idle for a while?04-08-2012 09:57 PMLike 0 -

- Had to pick mine up at FedEx on Friday evening. Been pretty much obsessed with it all weekend. I love how easy and connected it is. The screen is great compared to my old iPhone 3GS. LTE is rediculously fast. My goal is to start by making my family believers :) My girlfriend digs it and kinda wants to turn in her Droid.04-09-2012 08:26 AMLike 0
- Got mine about 30 minutes ago (black) still waiting for it to activate. The rep said there's some network congestion and it could take up to an hour and a half. So I set up some of it via wifi at home. Love the phone. Hope it's activated soon.
Edit: Updating to say activation took around 45 minutes. Give or take. Not too bad. Now reinstalling apps via windowsphone.com so much easier.Last edited by MrTimSmith; 04-09-2012 at 11:18 AM.
