Got my VivoTab RT last week.
It came with the standard Windows RT (not the 8.1)
When I try to install 8.1 which just came available again in the Store, it says that
there is a firmware update I have to install first.
Cool since I keep getting notified there is a firmware update available.
Bad since it refuses to install that update. It just sits at the screen saying
"Updating. Please don't turn off your computer" for hours when I try to
apply that update. I eventually have to do a hard shutdown by holding in the
power button to get it to come back up. And no sign the update was ever
applied.
Since I don't want to brick my tablet, I've decided to give up trying, but you
would think Asus would test this update before rolling it out.
Guess no 8.1 for me
