Scratched SIM card

So I just put my sim card in and pulled it back out and it got scratched and of course now the phone isn't recognizing it, has this happened to anyone else, if so how can it be prevented, does nokia think we won't wanna change our sim cards or what?

Never had that problem, and I've taken my sim out a lot.

I'd suggest contacting your carrier and getting the SIM replaced.
