Questions about the 521 with Simple Mobile

I'm looking into buying a Lumia 521 for my sister and was curious about warranty coverage. I plan on buying a T-Mobile locked 521 and using it with Simple Mobile($25 talk and text, no data plan) as the provider. If I needed warranty support would I contact Nokia directly? I know I can't go to T-Mobile as they would say that by not being on a T-Mobile plan that the phone isn't covered by them. Also any common issues to watch out for on the 521? I'm trying to decide between buying the 521 and the 710 (not too concerned about the differences between WP7.5 and WP8)

Simple Mobile settings for 521

Your warranty is covered through Nokia

710 is a very old phone now at this point, 521 is much better buy. Considering that WP 7.X is dead no more support for it and no more updates, apps are no longer being developed like they once where. 521 will have support and updates for a few more years with WP. WP8 apps are always coming out. Better off with 521 once again.

You are better off with a 521. I have had mine since September and got the $20 voucher from Nokia for app purchases only three weeks ago. You cannot beat the value.

Thanks for the replies! I bought the 521. Looks like a good phone with a good app store! Personally I enjoy my Blackberry Z10, though WP would definitely one of my top choices. Might pick up a 521 as a backup for myself. For the price ($70 new from Amazon) and features not much else comes close.

A friendly reminder: Nokia is giving away a $20 app voucher with the 521 among other phones, so make sure to get it. I think it's up to the 31st, so you may want to check that out.
