[Official] Nokia Lumia 822 Black Update Thread

Having been black since it was made available.

Here are son observations I've made.

- Videos seem to stop loading at a certain point when I pause it.
- Turning Wifi off isn't instant like before

+ Glance Background Beta is fantastic
+ Turning off vibration from the capacitive keys is great.
+ closing apps by pressing X is a lifesaver.

I'll add more as I make more observations.

Try if the screen rotation sensor works. My 925 had the same issue. Black is a mess!

Updated my 822 and it is absolutely perfect! Feel bad for those folks having problems!

I can agree with all less the haptic feedback (keyboard vib. - I like it)..... the feature in Black I like and use most is the double tap to wake...... no problems on my 822......

I'm enjoying the Glance and double tap to wake features so much now, along with the others of course, that's what keeping me from jumping on the Icon!

done updating my phone I'm very satisfied with my lumia 822 i already trade my ascend w1.... it's a good phone but huawei has poor after sales support i'm glad i have lumia 822 for a couple bucks

The 822 is a nice fit. I like that my wide tile fits wall to wall. I only have two wide tiles but these need to stand out without a medium tile to fill the width of the device.
I don't need every app to have a tile regardless of size.
The updated glance is better. The backgrounds from the glance backgrounds app are interesting to experiment with.

Updated to Black as soon as it became available, took twice as long as the Amber update to download and install (about 30 - 35 minutes total). Loving the new features and no problems so far.

Has anyone figured this out? Would really like to get my camera working again since it's the main reason I got the phone.

So far, so good. Downloaded the APP Folder and it works great.

The ability to close APPS easily by dragging to the bottom is great.... checking out new BING apps... nice....

opps... my bad.... you close the APP by an X on top of the app.

That's a loose rumor for 8.1. Not official yet, so I don't know. Wait till April 3rd to hear at Build 2014

Updated to Black without issue here. Works great and quite frankly if we also get a 8.1 update I see no real reason to dump the 822 for a long time.

Just switched to the 822 yesterday and while it's pulled down a couple updates, still no Black update. I'm on:

Looking for Glance and the double tap but no luck yet...I keep hitting the check for update but nothing...anything to try and pull it through other than being patient?

Same here, but running 8.0.10521.155 and I *do* have black with full glance, tap to wake and all the goodies, so I think you're just missing a couple of updates before you get the store notifications for the Nokia apps
