Posted in the Windows 8.1 Forum but I thought I'd ask here as well.
I bought a Lumia 521 on eBay that is supposedly a full 8.1 update that was done through Microsoft.
Software Windows Phone 8.1
OS Version 8.10.12382.878

Firware revision number 3056.40000.1404.0034
Hardware revision number 1.0.0.0
On Extras page it specifies Lumia Black with a logo next to the wording that looks like an i in the middle of a circle
First Question:
Is there any way of determining if this in fact a full version or a developer's preview??
Second question:
Is there a way of activating the screen roatation for the Calendar?
Calendar rotation is set to On and it seems to work fine for other apps but not for the calendar.
Is there a list of the apps on the 8.1 Developers Preview? I have 2 phones. One has 8.0 and the other has 8.1 The 8.1 is missing apps such as the Panorama. Has it been deleted or relocated?

You're on the Dev Preview if you're rocking the Black firmware.
Panorama is on the Store, I believe.
And, the 8.1 Calendar app is apparently portrait-only at the moment.

eBay seller warned against reverting to 8.0 prior to eventually updating to Cyan as recommended by Nokia CS as it would brick the device.
What to do... I don't need the 8.1 right now but I don't want to brick this thing by downgrading.
There are posts about problems with Cyan update while in DM and running Bitlocker. I don't have Bitlocker and would feel a whole lot better about keeping this device if I was assured of a safe update to 8.1 after the beta period.

If the phone has wp8.1 with Lumia black firmware it has to be from developer preview. Currently ms recommends rolling back to 8.0 before loading cyan but that may change any day now.

I maybe safe to say it could be the developers preview as my 521 is running os version 8.10.14157.200 lumia black developer preview. For downgrading as long as you use the nokia software recovery tool from nokia's official website there should not be a problem with bricking the device when reverting back to regular 8.0.

Is it at all possible to have installed windows 8.1 for ATT's lumia 520 on TMobile's lumia 521?
Would an ATT store rep (working with direction from MS) been able to have update a TMobile 521 to Win 8.1 once on ATT's network or is this like putting a square peg in a round hole.
eBay seller maintains that this unit is a full 8.1 install...

Could someone using Developer version on Lumia 521 check their phones for the following:
settings/about - mine shows Software Windows Phone 8.1
OS Version 8.10.12382.878

Firware revision number 3056.40000.1404.0034
Hardware revision number 1.0.0.0
settings/extra+info page - mine specifies Lumia Black with a logo next to the wording that looks like an i in the middle of a circle

I don't see any indication that it is 8.0 or "Developers Version" 8.1

Spoke to MS Widnows, yup Black is 8.0 I'm in developer preview plus this:
I can understand your concern. It appears you are running the developer's
preview. The firmware for 8.1 is called Lumia Cyan. The phone is currently
running the Lumia Black firmware which was for 8.0.
You: at 13:00:32
So will this require me to downgrade to 8.0 before installing 8.1 official
update (Cyan)? There was a report of difficulties upgrading from developer
mode when used with Bitlocker. I don't use Bitlocker but am curious what
the latest advice for upgrade is.
Patrick B.: at 13:01:40
No, you shouldn't need to downgrade to 8.0 to update to 8.1. The "bitlocker"
difficulty was very rare and it was for phones that had a company or
exchange account on it
.

Phew!

Glad to see that microsoft answered your questions, depending on which carrier you have we would be getting true 8.1 soon.
