8S finally receiving the 8.1.1

Just checked the phones updates and suddenly appears that my 8S received three updates just now. One of the updates said that it was the one with the live folders. I took a screenshot of it but the updates are in progress now so I'll post the screenshot later. I'm super excited right now!!!

Any of you updating your 8S?

Well, Cortana isn't as good as the US one but it does the job. I'm not going to use her frequently so it's not a big deal.

Did you notice any improvements with the battery?

I'd totally given up hope of getting the updates on my 8S, but there's some life left in it now. Will see how the device goes with the new update, and finally getting a chance to try Cortana.

This progress bar can't go fast enough.

It is running more smooth now but it is still a bit laggy. I've noticed that the battery is now quite better. Overall my phone is working better than on 8.1 DP.

Is this for the Developer Preview? Or is this official?

HTC confirmed WP8.1 will be the last official update to the 8S. GDR1 will be available only if registered in the Developer Preview.

That is not official.
Plus there is no point in releasing 8.1 without GDR 1.

I installed the new updates today and they are excellent and a must have for everybody who is seriously into Windows Phone. I love the live folders on the start screen (should be implemented on Windows 8.1 as well) and Cortana is finally here, too.

What is missing is the messaging hub.. I loved that feature fb messenger is crap... Everything else works fine
