Why do I have to reconnect to my wifi every few minutes?

I have to reconnect to to my wifi every few minutes

I have a refurb Asus Laptop with windows 10 on it. When i am using the internet every few minutes it will get really slow and then stop working at all. I have to then disconnect from my network and reconnect in order for it to work again. It runs fast and smooth for 5 min or so then does the same thing over again.

could be due to a ip address conflict? renew the ip (search the web and you should find easy instructions oh how to reset ip using cmd)

Another thing that could be causing this.. Updates. Your system might be downloading updates which would make your internet slower.
