Microsoft has been working on Hyperlapse for some time now, and today finally sees it launch as a consumer product for the first time.
With mobile apps for Windows Phone and Android as well as a desktop, 'Pro,' version, Hyperlapse offers a simple way to create great looking, smooth, fast-as-you-like time lapse videos from any of your video clips.

Odd that the Hyperlapse Mobile app is not available to my L1520 in the USA. The store didn't return a link on a search, so I used the PC store's website to locate it, emailed myself a link, and opened it on my phone. Said it's not supported on my device, but the article I read said it is. Any ideas? Update: Tried it again, and it is installing okay.
