Most modern power supply units today come with cables that you plug into the units themselves. This is called a modular setup. There are also semi-modular PSUs that have certain cables pre-installed that cannot be removed. All this helps to alleviate issues with bad airflow and cramped space caused by too many cables inside the chassis. It also enables case modders and PC builders to have some fun by throwing in custom cables into the mix.
