Today, Bungie released the "Season of Arrivals" for Destiny 2. During the livestream, the team also discussed upcoming content like future expansions until 2022 and how the game will just be called Destiny going forward. However, there were some smaller changes you may not have noticed. The first of them is that the new Power Level cap is 1,060. It's only 50 more than the previous cap so you shouldn't have that hard a time hitting it. The season pass should help as well.
