    Microsoft was a little humble today as it agreed with recent statements from the research firm Gartner that the Windows platform as a whole can only claim to be installed on a small percentage of of the total worldwide device market, which include PCs, tablets and smartphones.

    I was listening to the keynote, and I was honestly surprised to hear Kevin Turner admit it so bluntly. Usually they sugarcoat things like that somehow, making it sound positive. But I respect him for saying in plain language what everyone knew anyway. That number explains why he said "cross platform" so often!
