While we're still waiting (im)patiently for the first preview builds of Windows 10 for phones to drop, the image up top might give us a sneak peek at something new. It belongs to Microsoft employee, Vesku Paananen, who tweeted and then removed it ahead of an upcoming business summit. And on the phone it looks an awful lot like a double-stacked vertical live tile.

All I want is a tile that covers the whole width when using the three columns layout damn it. I can't see much use for vertical tiles since text doesn't fit well on them.

That's a 630/635, meaning a large screen size isn't required, you just need 3-tile start screen. The UI looks mostly the same as 8.1, which scares me. He's using the Xbox app (or something) on a laptop and Windows 10 on another device, but that tablet in the corner, likely a surface, doesn't have Cortana or Desktop Switchers, which means it's Windows 8.1 (probably gonna be called 8.10 like WP7.8 was). This image is all over the place.
