Uber has reportedly made a bid totaling upwards of $3 billion for Nokia's maps division. If true, Uber is just the latest in a long line of companies reported to be vying for the purchase of HERE Maps after it was reported last month that Nokia was interested in selling the division.

Nokia brought it for $9 billion in today's dollars. $6 billion loss if sold for only $3 billion. Nokia needs the money to by Alcatel-Lucent!

Uber has the money from their public offering to do it in cash. Not many company can fork out $3 billion in cash; other the Apple but they already have Apple Map.
