Remember We Happy Few? It was that ID@Xbox game that took the internet by storm at last year's E3 ... only to crash out of the spotlight?
We Happy Few emerged a year ago on Xbox One as a timed exclusive, catching the eyes of gamers everywhere for its Bioshock-like creepy aesthetic, and intriguing premise.
You see, in We Happy Few, nothing is as it seems. All of the game's citizens are high on a powerful antidepressant that turns the game's post-apocalyptic dystopia into a colorful land of rich abundance. At the start of the game, you begin to see the world for what it really is, and you embark on a dangerous, sandbox survival mission to escape the twisted town of Wellington Wells.
We Happy Few hit Game Preview on Xbox One initially, and its general lack of polish and features saw it fade away fairly quickly. Its initial trailer was perhaps a little too promising. It's quite possible that the Alpha state of the game took players by surprise, leading to disappointment.
But now you can take a joy pill and join me for some rather amazing-sounding news.
