Worth waiting for the latest and greatest?
Microsoft's Andromeda project is a software and hardware collaboration aimed to bring Windows 10 to a whole new class of mobile devices. While it isn't quite a phone and it isn't quite a PC, it is definitely expected to be a step forward by Microsoft, back into the mobile market.

I do not think there is a future for Windows on mobile devices. Even in the field of pocket-sized, foldable hardware, if it is revolutionized by Microsoft, Android OEMs will soon follow suit and people would eschew Windows for Android.

And of course, there is the problem with the "app gap". Developers are almost completely neglecting Windows 10 and put their efforts entirely into iOS/Android due to its commanding duopoly within the mobile handheld market. For this reason the trend away from traditional desktop operating systems continue.

And finally, remember this news a while back? Wait till the day Android takes a majority, as was the case with Windows when Android first caught on.
