Microsoft's Surface Pro Type Covers are solid keyboards for an equally solid 2-in-1, but they don't come cheap. Thankfully, there are a number of more affordable options.
At Windows Central, we're generally fans of Microsoft's Surface Pro Type Covers, whether it's the standard plastic-y Type Cover ($129.99), the "Signature" Type Cover with Alcantara fabric ($159.99), the Cover with a fingerprint reader ($159.99), the sporty Special Edition NFL Type Cover ($159.99) or the fancy Marimekko keyboard cover ($179.99).
However, like all things Surface, the Pro Type Covers are pricey. In fact, it's tough to find an official Microsoft Surface Pro Type Cover for less than $100. Thankfully, a set of third-party manufacturers have stepped in to offer some more wallet-friendly options, and for less than half of what Microsoft charges you can get a decent Surface Pro 2017 keyboard cover.
