Anyone else encountered this? I'm using a disc created with the ISO download and run the set up. It goes through all the motions, checks for updates, tells me my files aren't going anywhere (might be the problem if anything isn't compatible but I'd rather not delete everything until I know for sure).

The installing windows 10 technical preview screen rocks up then. I wait around until it restarts the computer then I get the windows logo and a "setting up %" display. That finishes and it restarts again. Windows logo, trademark spinning dots, then it displays "getting devices ready %". Then its setting up. Then it reverts.

Very annoying.

So, I'd you experienced this and got past it, could you let me know what you did?

I think Windows 10 is like, develope for one platform, be PC or phone, and it will work on all Windows products out of the box. That is, if developer wrote an app for PC and the requirements of the app are fulfilled by a phone, it will work on it, and developer will have to add 0 code to make it availabe to phone.

Nope, the disc isn't bootable.

Looks like the preview isn't for me then, I can't risk certain programs not being compatible.

I have tried installing several times. Gets to 69% and stays there for hours. Then reboots and rollback folks back to 8.1. Wish there was an install log. This is in a z77 system with an i7 3770k. Tried via Windows Update, and from an ISO. No dice on either.

I encountered the very same problem with my girlfriend's (very old) notebook (9 years old Sony VAIO). I couldn't find any explanation for this behaviour :unhappy:
