    Hey Guys,

Today morning after reading the article on the Latest update that Microsoft Rolled out to all Insiders, I decided to get on with it and update my Lumia 920. While it downloaded all the files, the Phone asked me whether to restart now or at a certain time. I decided to move with it now since I had some free time on my hand and then it got into Installation mode, While in the that it proceeded to go half done and then into a Blue Screen stating

" Your PC/Device needs to be Repaired.'

The Best Configuration Data of your PC is missing or Contain Errors.

    File: \EF\Microsoft\Boot\BCD\
    Error code : 0xc0000034

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer. "

Can someone please help, I've even got the latest Windows Phone Recovery Tool and it can't do nothing....It can't even detect the Device.

    HELP !

Have you tried to force recovery tool to detect it with volume down and power key?

    I got the same problem

Plug the 920 to PC, open the recovery tool, and Soft Reset the 920.
Try few times, you should be able to detect the phone.

Don't know if this will work for you or not - it depends on whether the phone is shutting you out from absolutely everything - but you might be able to start a hard reset...

Via the hardware buttons (might be different on different handsets, look it up if this doesn't work): Power off, hold Volume Down until you see "!" on the screen, then VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN, POWER, VOLUME DOWN and wait while the phone reboots and begins the reinstallation process

I can't even get to shutdown my Phone, I can only VOLUME UP + Power Button to restart the phone. Holding the Power button down does nothing as well.....

Alright, I've managed to fix it. I've kept in on charge for almost 3-4 Hours and as soon as I got back from Headlining an Festival... I decided to give it one more try before I head off to bed and it worked.... Here are the steps.

    1) Open Windows Phone Recovery Tool
    2) Have your Phone Charged for at least 3-4 Hours.
    3) Once the phone is on the Recovery Page, Hold VOLUME DOWN + POWER.
    4) If Windows recovery Tool still doesn't detect device, Click on the "I can't find my Device" and Click on either Nokia/HTC.
    5) Hold VOLUME DOWN + POWER again and voila.... It detects the firmware and will take about 15 mins to install depending on your Internet Connection.

Hope this helps.... If you would like to Talk to me Directly where I can answer you on the spot, you can add me on Facebook - Wasim Armstrong.

I had the same problem after updating my Lumia 930 from the previous build (10149 as I can remember).
An interesting moment was that I reconnected to the insider program yesterday, and I was unable to directly update to the latest 10166 version - I just saw the last one that I did not installed. I had to update the previous version first, which went well. I charged the phone to 100% and wanted to upgrade and ran to this problem (Blue death BCD error).
Using the previous tips I charged the phone again for a time and restarting with Vol- + Power several times and selecting Lumia on the Recovery tool I was able to recover the phone. (All settings are gone, factory reset...)

Probably there is a problem with updating 9x0 phone from previous Windows 10 mobile version 10166, be careful!
For the second shot, from a factory reseted WP8.1 directly to 10166 worked well.

If WPRT could not detect my phone, happened about 3-4 times, I selected that my phone was not detected and restarted the phone while connected to the PC. WPRT always grabbed it just going past the Nokia text/logo.

it depends of much time and what were you doing before: which build are you trying to install?
