Black Screen Of Death After Hard Reset on Build 10166

I dont want to reinstall 8.1 I want to use Windows 10. What can I do? I installed 4 builds of Win 10 before but this is my first issue wehn installing the beta OS.

I just ran into this myself. Wait. Be patient, and walk away. It takes what feels like an eternity for it to get through the black screen. Then you have to deal with the eternity wait of the spinning gears to finish up.

The gears are stopped and I got a blackscreen whit this: ":-(" and my phone always restarted, but I reverted back to 8.1 and installed Win10 again without hard-reset and it's working now.

I don't think MS have gotten the 'upgrade' path fully worked out in these preview builds. I think they are still on functionality fixes, so as others have found it's best to reset back to factory 8.1, then log in without restoring from backup, then quickly upgrade to W10.
