Force app exit in W10M Insider Preview

As you know some apps will not close in current W10M build when you press the Back button.
To close them you need to use task manager and either tap X or slide down the app window to exit.

Is this actually necessary?
Are you doing this or you just leave them there?
Will those "unclosed" apps affect battery?

Not sure how big the impact would be on battery, I guess it depends on what kind of an app it is. If it uses the gps then it might have a huge impact on battery life.

Whether or not it is necessary to close those apps off.. Well some of us have noticed that the phone performs better with only a few open apps. Since I discovered that, I've been regularly closing off all apps unless I need them to be open
