I don't know what's an RC or RTM at this point but one thing I did notice, as of 10581 the About page designates it as "Windows 10 Mobile" not "Insider Preview."

To elaborate on this, for the first time, the Microsoft licence/EULA presented at the very beginning (after a hard reset) was NOT refering to WP8.1 as before, was dated July 2015 and not 2014, was in English and not in French (I have a FR ROM/SIM). So it looks like even the EULA part has switched to the W10 standard (and the French terms are not yet ready).

With the recent track records for some of the previous builds, I'd say it is quite possible it is not RTM ready. Time will tell. Be patient. I'm sure they're working as fast as humanly possible. Rome wasn't built in a day. And Jesus said he'd rebuild the city in 3 days. And supposedly, he's omnipotent.

As an aside... Jesus said he'd rebuild Jerusalem in 3 days, but he was also speaking figuratively. It's his father who's omnipotent. We don't know what OS they prefer.

10586 can't be RTM.

Don't forget big jump from latest preview 10166 to RTM 10240 in PC builds.

Preview 10581 to RTM 10586 for mobile? I don't think so.

Previous build numbers have nothing to do with it. The latest PC build 10586 is reportedly the RTM version, so why wouldn't the phone be the same way (assuming the latest reports of it bricking phones aren't true)?

No, 10586 IS the RTM version. Just like it is the November Refresh for desktop.

Previously, an RTM build was a number evenly divisible by 16 and followed by .16384 or slightly higher number. 10586 is not evenly divisible by 16. 10240 is.

They might be doing something different nowadays.

Not sure how people are claiming a RTM at this point. 10581 is still very buggy and is not claimed a RC yet (release canadate).
You cover it in candy by saying "still very buggy". :amaze: To be honest it is a mess: every new build fixing things but again breaking some other things that have worked flawless in prior builds. In sum not much progress.
I just hope they kick out the 950(XL) after some more delays with a rubbish preview build. That will hopefully make the price fall quickly :winktongue:

Speculation and conjecture, the friend of any board for those who add 2+2 and come up with 5!! There WILL have to be a RTM soon otherwise the entire 950 / " reinvention " of win mobile WILL go tits up. We all know that internal rings are way ahead of what we get. It is not far away as the 8.1 phones in my house have had updates to enable updating to 10. What we get is also NOT device specific. I suggest that when it comes, there will also be a firmware update. With the stupid amount of devices being offered 10 for upgrade there ARE going to be issues.

These threads are getting as bad as my kids on Xmas eve!!!! Jeez.....

Hey, just a reminder, Microsoft still has a full week to put it all together before the 950 and 950 XL starts to arrive. Maybe something did delay it, maybe they took this week to finalize the Xbox and PC versions of Windows 10, no idea. Just have to sit back, relax, and enjoy 10581 for a little bit longer.

Windows 10 build 10586 will come just like cyan came for 8.1 and the threshold 2 release will come up with few new features and bug fixes just like denim came for 8.1

But is it the RTM for the mobile? If so that means we're getting the final version this week?

The current one we are using is not RTM. With mobile it's hard to tell. Desktop the best indicator is the watermark in the corner. Just like the previous insider build removed the watermark and it was the one that went RTM.
