red screen white square keeps rebooting

hi all I decided to go back to win 8.1 as I was having a few issues hooked it to pc ran the recovery tool it says failed and then got a red screen with a white square which keeps rebooting itself, tried vol - and power but it goes back to the red screen, please please help
ive a Microsoft 640xl

Is this a Windows 10 Mobile Preview? If so, wrong section.

However, keep trying the Windows Recovery Tool several times. Otherwise, you can try the Nokia Tool as well on this same page. GL!
