My messages fail to sync after updating to the most recent Windows 10 build

Dear forum, i recently tried out the new build but realized all my messages failed to sync. I lost all messages. What do i do? is there a way out?
I back up regularly on one drive but yet nothing for me...
 
I just installed 10586.36 from 8.1, (there was I believe 10836.29 first) and it took over 24 hours for my messages to sync but finally they all appear to be back. Groove was really slow too, I would give it a little time, they may show up.
 
The backup for text messages is in a different location than the regular "backup". Assuming you've signed into the same Microsoft account on the new build, go to the actual Messaging App and from the main "Conversations" screen, tap the three dot menu (...) lower right corner, then tap settings. At the top of the settings screen, you should see "History & Sync" Make sure "Sync messages between devices" is turned on, then select "download messages from last month, year, anytime"
