So I have a Lumia 640XL, I've been on the insider preview for a long time but I've never gotten a bug I hated until now.

Build 14291 has a screen stuttering bug when playing videos, be it on mytube, edge, or readit. This seriously bugs me since I use my phone manly for video watching.

Is there anyway to fix it or do I have to go back to windows 10 mobile 10586?

I have the same issue with Lumia 830, It's the most annoying bug, Netflix is unusable and cant watch mytube anymore.

I face no such problem on my 830. On the contrary, I'm facing this some sort of bug where myTube! won't play any video (even saved videos/audios), or that it takes waaaayyyy too long to play video (some sort of buffering happening). Luckily I'm able to play the videos just fine on Edge, so yeah.

That's make me crazy. Same harware, different people and countries, opposite o.s. behaviour .
Only reasonable explanaion is the amount of 3rd party apps, personal data, connection iussues, something making busy gpu

Same here on Lumia 830. The screen actually flickers when I try to seek. Once the video starts playing, it will go on without flickering until I touch the screen for any reason. I guess we would have to wait for the next build :(

Likely different firmware will have a bigger impact than apps and data.

Use Windows device recovery tool to rollback to older build. You will get official 10586 if it's available for your phone. If it's not available (as in my case), upgrade to Windows 10 mobile from Windows phone 8.1 in the Slow ring. Don't forget to back up you data.

Ooh yeah, I've been on insider program since the beginning, yesterday found out the new update for fast ring, but omg, the bug was real. Had to roll back to Windows 8.1 and updated it to latest Insider Preview update which is 10586.164.

Updated yesterday first time in RedStone. After a little humming, now phone works fine. I don't see improvements till now exept Microsoft Camera with flash focus and flash on during recording,
Videos playback in edge is perfect.
I'll see the rest during use.

Just some localization problem in some settings wrote in English still
