Lumia 1520 Shuts abruptly sometime with goodbye and other times without any prompt. I can't restart the phone even with soft reset- it would come back on but it goes to blank screen immediately. Only way to get back to windows is- connect to power! This problem started since build 14905.1000 and it continues on 14915.1000. I can't tell for sure if my phone battery is really gone bad or if it is caused by bug in the OS.

Would like to hear from you- if you are running one of the builds (14905 or 14915) on Lumia 1520.

Nothing can be ruled out. I have not seen any documentation RS2 would or wouldn't support lumia 1520. Hope someone would have definite answer. Lumia 1520 green was working fine until build 14393. I have another 1520 and it's on build 14393 which is working very well.

Lumia 1520 supports insider program. From the Microsoft forums, it looks like you have a battery problem. Try using WDRT and see whether battery is alright or not.

True, forgot about that. You can execute that at command line if needed. Go into the needed WDRT folder and run an elevated cmd window. The results would eventually tail down to show something like below:

C:\cmds_scripts>thor2 -mode rnd -read_charging_status

Read charging status
Read parameter from UEFI Flash App
Read parameter Ok
State of charge: 91 %. Charging current: 80 mA (charging)

Exited with success

I am going for WDRT to find the fact- if the battery is indeed bad. I will know today. If the battery is bad, I will visit a shop that can replace the internal battery. It's hard to find people who works on Lumia but I found someone who promise to replace batter for $70 (that includes the battery).

I did run the command (thor2 -mode rnd -read_charging_status) and here is the status. Not sure on the take away!
Device already in flash mode
Read charging status
Read parameter from UEFI Flash App
Read parameter Ok
State of charge: 55 %. Charging current: 395 mA (discharging)

Exited with success

I'm assuming that your lumina is not capable of offline charging or is it? It was discharging while connected to the PC as you showed it. There might be other rnd utility commands you could try to dig around more. That was the first one I found and shared...Google is your friend at this point.

Did you run it a couple more times and get the same result?
