So, finally, everything is successful.

Wow, performance improvements indeed.

Everything is much smoother, especially launching GoVoice and any other app. Dayum.

Update both WP7 phones today. I did mine first, just in case, and my wife's second. Everything went smooth. I'm a happy camper!

Is it me or are new text messages starting a new entry since the update instead of adding to any saved message threads? Possibly Quantum specific?

Mine still has the previous conversations just as it did before the update. The only things that I noticed were different in the texting app were the icon for pasting text if something has been copied to the clipboard and perhaps the sounds while holding down the backspace key.

Oh, and I have a Focus.

Updated! I plugged my phone in to my PC to launch the update process.

I initially got the error 801812C1 - "software mode reported by your phone is incorrect". Apparently, a driver needed to be updated/installed. I disconnected my phone from the PC, rebooted my phone into "Connect to PC" mode, reconnected and the driver installed.

I attempted the update again, only to now get the 800705B4 error. I then deleted the history in the IE, maps and Bing, to no avail. I used the WP Update Support Tool, tried the update again and it worked.

For a moment, I thought I was done. But, of course, there was still the actual NoDo update. That took about 1 hour (I'm running Zune on very old hardware, though).

I'm happy to have the update and copy/paste is actually pretty significant for me - it's absence was a thorn in my side since getting this phone. As someone who scours the Marketplace on a daily basis, that bug fix is also a welcome improvement. I have noticed improved performance in the short amount of time that I've been using NoDo. Haven't a chance to try out the ATT features yet but I anticipate WISPr being very useful to me.

Here are my stats:

ATT Samsung Focus (purchased Nov 9; never unlocked, never used update workaround)
NYC (EST)
16 GB Samsung Class 2 SD (using ~16.5 GB)

Before/After
Firmware revision number : 2103.10.10.1 / 2103.11.3.3
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7 / 3.1.0.7
Radio software version : 2103.10.10.1 / 2103.11.3.3
Bootloader version : 4.10.01 / 5.3.1.6
Chip SOC version : 0.36.2.0 / 0.36.2.0

So....how do AT&T hotspots work. Are they password protected Wifi locations that an AT&T device can access? Are they not just free Wifi?

It's funny, around here there are AT&T hot spots before AT&T was even available here, simply because of corporate deals with Barnes and Noble and others.

Just upgraded. Things went pretty smoothly. I got a 800705B4 error and had to run the support tool to fix it. Things seem a lot smoother!

I originally updated to NoDo using the VPN workaround. Connected my phone tonight and got a notification update. "Available update: Samsung update for Windows Phone" So i went the process again with no issues. I also updated my wife's LG Quantum which was previously updated using the support tool hack. The LG quantum recieved the notification update. "Available update: LG update for Windows Phone". The update worked on both phones with no issues. Below are my Samsung Focus versions:

Firmware revision number : 2103.11.3.3
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7
Radio software version : 2103.11.3.3
Radio hardware version: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader version : 5.3.1.6
Chip SOC version : 0.36.2.0

I have the previous ones as well it just started a new one for those who texted me after I updated. Maybe its related to the Quantum I'll make a post over there see if anyone has seen it.

Got my post-NoDo (LG Quantum-specific update) after re-branding my phone. Did not see any notification for it until then, which was not a surprise. Debranding/Rebranding is easy enough, I'm inclined to keep down that path in the future to get the latest updates.

Sorry if this has been mentioned. Does the AT&T NoDo update lock previously developer un-locked devices?

I got NoDo a few weeks ago using the de-branding, VPN method, and my device is still unlocked, but I haven't done the official AT&T update yet. Thanks.
