Hi all,

I'm new to WP7 and this forum is really helping me learn how to get the best out of it. I've just got a Samsung Omnia 7 and I'm really loving the WP7 UI. Anyway, I was just wondering how other people organize tiles? I've been using mylivetile.com to experiment with various 'sections'. At the moment my set-up is:

1) Standard phone, messaging, mail tiles + People hub, Me and fave contact

2) "Office": Calendar, alarms, calculator, office and IE

3) "Media": Pictures, Music & Video and Xbox Live

4) "Apps": various app tiles

5) "More": Maps, Market and Settings

My setup is:

Me--Twitter
Zune--People
WP7 News--IMDb
The Weather Channel--Internet Explorer
Hotmail--Xbox Live
--Pictures--
Marketplace--YouTube (Lazyworm)
--Calendar--
Phone--Messaging
Maps--Settings

I know there's no real relevance or consistency in the order of my apps but I organized them by amount of use with the heaviest used being at the top. The ones at the bottom, particularly from Calendar and down, I could really live with them not being pinned but those are kind of important apps so that's really why they're there.

I have 46 tiles on my Start screen, generally grouped by category, like:mail/messaging, browsing/search , sports, maps/find, tasks/reminders, dropbox/notes, etc. If I had some kind of Favorites hub, I could move 15-20 of these tiles into that, but I don't want to lose them in my long list of 140+ apps. I put my most used in the 8 top and bottom positions, so I can scroll up/down quickly to get to what I need quickly.

I now have all apps/tile that follow the theme color on the right side and all apps/tile that follow their own color pattern on the left.

And using accent color to all 0's [black], it looks awesome. Wish we had some type of way to take screen shots.

I would also like to see this.

Couldn't you just take a picture for us, and upload it via imgur.com?

I don't have as many tiles and apps, but I use this tactic, too.

My top 8 are:
Phone --- ICanHasCheezburger
Messaging --- People
Hotmail --- business email
The Weather Channel --- Flashlight

My bottom 8 are:
Zune --- Cartoon TV
Marketplace --- Settings
WPCentral --- IE
Yahoo! Mail --- other email

It's actually pretty simple to create section titles to divide apps on the phone. You can do it with pictures and words, or in my case, I just have a white background and blue font for each section. If I had the black background, I would make the tiles black.

Open paintbrush, type a word, People, for instance. Click save as. . .and it will default to a PNG image. Upload that image to your live skydrive (or any other place where its available online). Now, browse to the image, click/hold. Pin to start screen.

Section title People:
Phone, People
Hotmail, Messaging
Pictures
a tile with my wife, tile with family room
messenger, facebook

Section title - Marketplace
open marketplace
xbox music
kindle soundtrack(this is in the wrong section)

section title - Multimedia
Youtube supertube
MSN Video
IMDb Prime TV
Movie Vault Netflix
Flixter The last Airbender

Section title - News
Fox news, Sports Center
AP Mobile, WP7 News
WP Central, Feed Me
News Rack, Onit

Section title - Apps
Calendar
alarm, Weatherbug
Office, WHS Phone
KBB.com, Realtor
Trip advisor, Kyak
Museums, Where
