I've been enjoying the Mango beta for the most part, but limiting the IM integration in the messaging app to just WLM and Facebook chat seems rather odd. Anyone know if there are plans to add Google Talk and/or Yahoo IM functionality into that?

(sorry if this has been discussed, I did a search and didn't see anything)

I think Google. Won't give MS access to the API needed. I sure hope they do. I want yahoo and aim support too.

Google talk uses open protocols so MS should be able to do this if they wanted to. Unless of course Google goes out of their way to block it, which I kind of doubt would happen.

Yeah, Google just uses the jabber protocol so MS could definitely use it. Not sure about AIM or Yahoo but lots of apps tie into those without problem too so I can't imagine there's a technical reason they can't do it.

IM+ is ok, but I'd REALLY like to have full IM integration into the OS (I'm used to WebOS in that sense)

Yeah, I was thinking about YouTube and why MS doesn't have a proper app for WP7.
