    Hello,
yesterday I flashed a newer firmware onto my LG-E900, which erased all my data. I knew that before so I made a backup of my phone when I was still on 7403.
Unfortunately, restoring with that backup doesn't work anymore on Mango 7720. It gives me the error code 801812E0. I think this might happen because the software version 7403 differs from 7720.
Is there a simple solution for this? Would it be possible to downgrade to 7403, restore with the update and THEN upgrade to Mango again?
I'd really appreciate any help! :)

I am not positive about a WP7 backup, but I would think it just backs up settings for the phone and any applications. I don't think it makes a clone of your hard drive, but I could be wrong.
Wouldn't contacts be on your Windows Live account

I think it even backs up music. But that is not the problem. I just want my text messages and my dictionary (the words that the phone didn't know) back for example.

Zune just backs up apps and music, photo's, videos etc. Shame it doesn't clone your phone including settings, texts, messages etc as you do get used to where your apps are on the home screen.

I have my apps home screen positions written down so I can easily pop them back where they always are. (Very sad I know, but I just like them to be where I expect them to be) :)

A few days ago I restored to another backup when i was still on 7403 and it restored EVERYTHING. My text messages and even the position of tiles on my home screen. ;)

You've already tried your backup, I'm not sure what to suggest to be honest Physatty. :(
