Can you share a Skydrive document with someone that doesn't use Live?

Like you know how someone can send you a link to a Google Document, and you click on it, and it opens, and you are not prompted to sign in or join Google?

I tried to do that with one to wife, and it prompts her to sign up for Windows Live. I set it so that she can edit it, and the folder is marked to share with anyone with the link, but it still prompts a signup.

If the permissions are set to public, share with everybody, that's as open as you can make the permissions. The only other alternative I can think of is emailing the actual document to her and have her email it back.

When I click share on the web there are options, including one "recipients must sign in to view", I guess so you can track who does what. But if I do not click that, signing in is not required.
