The update doesnt bring tri-cores and dilithium crystal battery compatibility? Sure they'll find something. :)

    For normal people, Yay! :D

    The tiles are too big...

Only really noticed the Keyboard thing on the Lumia the Omnia seemed more resistant. I guess this is a roll up of sorts as some of those fixes were already released or at least it was released to some.

Apparently, the US carriers opted not to release those, choosing instead to lump the incremental updates together with the larger ones (which, I hope they consider this one to be)

I thought carriers could only skip every other update? If so, this one has to be released for US carriers I would guess. Someone with a better memory than me can clarify I'm sure...

    Yes, that's what Microsoft said.

Carriers have already stopped more than one, though, so I don't think you can put much weight behind those words.

Rocket_Girl, if you're able to unlock and unbrand your device, I believe it is possible... I could be wrong though, haven't done any of that in a while.

Hi Rocket_Girl, as duvi suggested I doubt you'll get the update no matter where you are unless you unbrand your phone.

I have taken note of your April date, and will wave to every plane heading for Edinburgh, so watch out for me! ;)

They will say this: "If not when you'd get the update"

According to Microsoft, not everyone will get the update and it is
up to carriers request or something..

I guess Microsoft doesn't think dissapearing keyboard is
    important enough for us.

Someone should get fired at Microsoft.

    Seems very stupid

Sounds like carriers are playing tough with MS. And MS isn't in any position to play tough back.

You can update manually with this guide, here.

This is a different type of update to the 7740 for the Lumia, that was a firmware update, this is an OS update.

Edit: Also, how do carriers even have a say in the issue? The updates go out through Zune and this is an OS fix not a per-phone firmware fix.

the carriers will get this update only if they ask for it so you/we should probably be contacting carriers customer service or whomever to make sure they "ask"!
