With all the talk of internet speeds and throttling I am interested in what everyone has. I left working for cell phone companies to working for an isp so I am just wondering peoples thoughts speeds costs etc.

Cox Arizona. Pretty fast when it's not throttled. Currently throttled for a couple more days. I get a 200 GB cap but I usually pass that. Costs me $50/month (yay no tax on internet) and usually get between 15-20 Mbps d/l and 5-9 Mbps u/l.

HD7 on Bell in Canada. I typically see 3-4mbps down/1.5-2mbps up with decent signal, and my plan is $55/month for 350 minutes, 10 nationwide free #s, unlimited MMS/SMS, free local eve/weekends, free nationwide Bell to Bell, and 5gb of data. The only ripoff is the extra $7 I pay for caller id. (!)

Broadband internet isn't available where I live.

I currently have centurylink. I am getting 40mb down 20mb up. I haven't moved from a consumer account yet so I am paying 45 a month for that with no throttling. I use around 300gb per months

What do you go to when throttled?

Well their throttling doesn't make it unusable. I can still stream Netflix and play Xbox Live and stuff. Last month I used my phone's 4G data connection but that brought me really close to the 2GB limit I have.

I have WideOpenWest for home cable TV and internet. I have my WiFi on it and it powers my Sony Google TV, and my HTPC It's a lowend package 12GB down 1GB up for $25 a month, but it's in a package deal. They have 30GB and 50GB down, but it cost a lot more and I don't need it. I think it's set with a cap at 250GB. I never come close to that.

In the man cave (my den) on the other end of the house, I still have an AT&T DSL 6GB down and 750KB up. It's only $24.95 a month. I've thought of cancelling it and just using the WiFi off my home cable, but my home cable internet connection isn't real reliable. They have a lot of outages. I think the DSL is set with a 150GB cap and I never come close to that.
