Hi,
I'm relatively unfamiliar with GSM (and Windows Phone)...so bear with me=/ I just ordered an HTC Radar 4G for T-Mobile. I don't intend to use it for calling or texting...really all I want it for is data (and hotspot).
In order to maximize the battery life, I was wondering if it's at all possible to turn off the cell radio while maintaining a data connection. I ask because I know with CDMA, the data connection is closely tied into the cell connection (no simultaneous voice & data). I just don't know to what degree the GSM cell radio and data connection are separate... I haven't received the phone, so I can't dig around in the settings quite yet. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Best,
